Me and Squeek had been at Heinrich previously and decided to go check out this building we had many times passed and noted to check out. Well we had a couple hours before daylight to kill and we werent totally tired from Heinrich so we decided what the hell?!... more 'splorin..

We biked over to were Abbott was not knowing at the time what it was called. We circled a couple times looking for entrances. Nothing. Lame. Weird.

So we decided to go check out a 2nd floor roof to see if we could find a window or somthing and better yet we find a busted open door. Awesome!

The first thing we noticed is that the stairs were like that of a High School with the thick wood stair handles and concrete reinforced stairs. We decided that we should start from the top and work our way down to the basement. Good plan eh?

(Left: They have fireplaces. Bastards!)
(Right: Squeek is obviously a desk jockey)

So we got the roof. Now at the time there was alot of snow up there, one of those April heavy thick wet snows. We attempted to circle the roof, not noticing that it was partly rubber. I almost ended up slipping off an angled part. That would have hurt!

After exploring the roof which was in top shit condition we decided to check out the below levels where " tenants " were housed. Unfortunately since its close in 2003 the whole of the interior has been shit on. Scrappers, Taggers, Vandals, Teenagers, and all manner of types have gone through the building leaving their "mark". Its taken its toll on the interior. Most of the interior floors are much the same, room by room, desk by desk, bathroom by bathroom, very much like a hospital.

(Right: Of course..)

It wasnt until we hit the Basement, Lobby, Kitchens, and Boiler Room that it got very interesting. Where to start? I believe we ended up in the kitchen first. Yum!

The kitchen of course like everything was in bad condition. What made me bring this up was the fact that there were like 4 kitchens in the building, 1 large cafeteria, and a furnace for burning garbage nearby. I would think that would make the food smell kind of bad burning diapers not too far from the food. Weird.

(Right: That made me laugh)

After roaming around we decided to head to the basement. Nifty equipment. Not much to say, average basement, but then we found the boiler room! Now that place was huge compared to most boiler rooms I've been in. It even had a Steam Tunnel (I think?) which was totally mind blowing. Found a crawlspace and a laundry room. The Laundry room was in shit condition like most everything else, the glass was all broken. On our way out we found a crawl space that lead to nowhere but was still kind of fun.

(The awesome miral)

On our way out we headed to the lobby to see if we had overlooked anything in that immediate area. Nothing to miss except for an awsome Miral. Which as I write this, I cant help but think to myself if while Abbott is being Demolished they will take out that miral and save it? I hope they do, if they dont, Ill run in with a Sazall Masonry Bit and take it out and hall it away.

Goodbye Abbott. Thanks for the Good Times.
