The trip.

Me and KMOA had already hit up a couple of other spots earlier in the night and decided since we were in the area of the Hamms Brewery that we would check it out.

I had passed the building alot in the past and decided it was a good night to finally get into the old marvelous brewery. Going towards the back of the building hoping to find an entrance we had found the remains of a former entrance and were able to squeeze through it.

The deal with Hamms Fences is that you have quite a few obstacles on your way to getting in. First off you have to find a way through the man fence, which is 8 feet or so high. Second off, while doing so, you have to keep a weary eye around the bike path, occasionally Park Police cruise by. Third off, once a method of entrance through the fence is found, you have to be careful not to get cut by the razor wire on the other side. This makes the fence entrance not the most ideal entrance.

Upon entering the brewery we noticed how bad and in rough shape the place was in. Broken Glass, Scorch Marks from Fires, Rubble, Weather Damage. I had seen photos of the interior right after it had closed and my my was it a beautiful place. I almost regret going there and seeing how run down it was. Nonetheless. Explore!

We first proceeded to the old caves under the brewery. Atleast they were in good condition all things considered. We walked around, climbed around, crawled around, and even jumped a bit until we were satisfied that we had seen every inch of the cave.

We started heading upstairs to see the rest of the brewery. Bear in mind that at this point in time, only the original brewhouse was still standing/non-renovated. Walking around we noticed that the day light was starting to peak meaning cleanup crews would be arriving soon so we decided to make a quick-as-possible tour of the brewery while we had the chance.

We probably got about half way through exploring the remaining buildings when we started hearing trucks pull up. Looking at the time it was 8am, and we figured it must be the crews coming to work. So we decided to wrap up a couple of pictures and head back.

On our way out coming down from the 3rd floor we noticed a cleaner walking around on the 1st floor in the old brewhouse. Carefully and quietly walking backwards and to the other side of the building we decided to take the other stairs. Going down to the basement instead of the first floor we were able to get back to our escape entrance. We got out of there and went for some breakfast.
