I had planned on returning to ADM for quite some time but when I was in the area I had always got sidetracked into something else. Then in October we heard ADM had been completely locked up. We returned in spite of that information and decided theres always a way in, especially if you're creative.
It was 4am when I was picked up by Dr. Magnus & Co. I had told them over the phone that I wanted to go back and finish ADM and get some sunrise photos of the place, since usually I roamed the area at night. They were down and Co. had never been to Mill Hell, she had been exploring for years and had never been there. I was honestly surprised.
So we drove there and parked, it was about 5am at that point. We parked a couple blocks away and started walking, it was about 30 degrees with a chill wind. We looked around and decided to just take the direct approach to walking in.

The caretakers of ADM had done a fine job of keeping people out. They had added new padlocks, added some bolted in metal pads, some welding. We were however creative in achieving an entrance. So we popped in and started walking up those long metal grated stairs. Dr. Magnus about 4 stories up said he couldnt do it. I started motivating him to keep walking up and just look up. After a ridiculous wait we finally got up. The sun was just peaking over the horizon, I said we should get to the top and attempt some shots. After roving around we achieved that goal.
We took some shots, took in the view of Downtown Minneapolis, the surrounding area, and the witches tower. After about 10 minutes the wind started to get to us and we returned to the moderately warmer inside and take some shots of the interior. I had never gone over the catwalk that hung above the giant silos so I was getting a kick at seeing those for the first time.
The sun had risen at just the right angle making the light effects of ADM superb for some good shots. We walked along the crosswalks, the various windows, the rotator belts, and atop of the Silos. We decided at about 6:30am that we should head out before everyone was awake and driving around.
